and contribute to the global society with cooperation from overseas supporters.
-Brief Introduction of Yourself
Prof. Dr. Ing. Michal Beneš – deals with applications of partial differential equations, numerical methods for their solutions, with mathematical modeling and numerical solution of nonlinear problems in engineering, environment protection and computer science. He was supervisor of 38 master degree project and of 14 Ph.D. theses. He collaborates with numerous research institutes and universities in the USA, Europe and Japan.
-How did you get to know Kanazawa University? What is your impression of the university ?
My longterm collaborator Prof. M, Kimura introduced me to the KU, School of Computational Mathematics, where I found a very good environment suitable both for research and education.
-List the recent activities as a Collaborative Professor
Together with Prof. M, Kimura, Prof. H. Ohtsuka and others, a regular student exchange has been established on the level of Bc, MSc and PhD. Production of new research results continues. The exchanges take part each year in high number of students from KU visiting CTU Prague.
One of conferences of the common series the Czech Japanese Seminar in Applied Mathematics took place I Noto and Kanazawa in 2018. Another such conference has been organized online in January 2021 with 72 participants from Czech Republic, Japan, EU and USA.
