PIZIKI PATRICIA ZAZO

My name is Patricia Zazo Piziki and I came from the Solomon Islands in the South Pacific Region. I was very privileged to be one of the recipients of the MEXT scholarship. And so I would like to thank MEXT for this great assistance in sponsoring my study here in Kanazawa University.

I decided to study abroad here in Kanazawa University because Kanazawa University offers the course of study which I want to undertake, which is Education in Earth Science. I also learned from the website that Kanazawa University was situated isolated from the noisy city life and this is very convenient for study purpose.

To prepare for study abroad, I got general knowledge information about Kanazawa University from the website. I also got some information about life in Japan from the websites and I read the Japan guide book given by the Japanese Embassy office. Then I communicated with my family, especially with my husband and my children.

After I came to Kanazawa, I experienced many things, especially, Japanese culture, food, and life, places and I have experienced interaction with Japanese people, local community and international students. From these experiences I came to realize and understand Japanese culture and life.

In Kanazawa University, you can not only learn academically but also you can interact more with the surrounding communities and people and there are lots of events here that you can join to interact with the Japanese and other international student and to learn about many other things. Also, Kanazawa University is situated in a very best location which is so quiet and the air is refreshing. If you want to experience real Japanese life and culture, Kanazawa University is the right CHOICE for you to come to.

Lastly, I would like to say that Kanazawa University should increase the intake of international students each year. I suggest if English can be taught and used in some of the classes so it can encourage more students to study here.
