*Spring program in Chiang Mai University for SixERS*
School of International Studies, College of Human and Social Sciences

AWAMURA Yumi

I decided to join this 2 week program because I am a fan of Thailand. My previous visit to Bangkok was very meaningful, and this program is focused on English communication which I thought would be the best opportunity for me to improve my speaking skill.

After arrival, there were some difficulties such as extremely hot weather, spiciness of Thai food and tight schedule. However, thanks to high quality classes focused on English communication skill and dedicated teachers, I can proudly say that my speaking ability has improved after this program. In the final presentation, I feel that I was able to do a great job as the compilation of 2 weeks.

I recommend this program to underclassmen and those who are still not sure whether to join or not. You are able to experience things you normally would not on sightseeing tours, and the warmth of Thai people helped me a lot during this program.
Since this program is organized by The “SixERS,” Consortium of Six National Universities in Japan, I was able to make wonderful friends from all over Japan. This is and will be a precious treasure in my life.
