International Symposium on Viral Hepatitis in Asia takes place in Mongolia


On June 23, “Second International Symposium on Viral Hepatitis in Asia” took place in Ulan Bator, Mongolia. Kanazawa University leads the symposium in cooperation with National University of Mongolia (Mongolia), Hanoi Medical University (Vietnam) and Sichuan University (China). The symposium, which is one of the activities of a JSPS Core-to-Core Program led by Prof. Shuichi KANEKO from the Institute of Medical, Pharmaceutical and Health Sciences, aims to control and prevent hepatic diseases caused by hepatitis B virus.

Approximately 110 persons, including physicians and researchers from each university, specialist of hepatitis from WHO Western Pacific Region (WPRO), Medical Attache from Embassy of Japan in Mongolia and Mongolian physicians specialized in hepatic disease, attended the symposium and deepened mutual exchanges.

Third symposium is scheduled to be held in Chengdu, China, in June, 2016.
