The Ambassador of Honduras to Japan and the Ambassador of Japan to Honduras Visit Kanazawa University


On April 16, H.E. Marlene Villela Talbott, the Honduran Ambassador to Japan, visited Kanazawa University and gave a special lecture hosted by the Center for Cultural Resource Studies. H.E. Talbott lectured on “Japan in the Eyes of Central America, Central America in the Eyes of Japan: In the Case of Honduras,” and approximately 90 audience gained a deeper understanding of the relationship between Honduras and Japan.

Prior to the lecture, H.E. Talbott and H.E. Kenji Okada, the Japanese Ambassador to Honduras, paid a courtesy visit to President Koetsu Yamazaki. At the meeting, there was a discussion on the on-going cooperation between Honduras and our university.

The Center for Cultural Resource Studies at Kanazawa University and the Honduran Institute of Anthropology and History concluded a partnership in February 2013, and they are collaborating in the field of cultural resource studies, especially at the Mayan site of Copan.
